Secure cabinets with cleaning supplies, medications, and trash, and move toxic houseplants out of reach (lilies, sago palm, and azaleas are especially dangerous to pets). Block off stairs or unsafe areas with a puppy gate until they're steadier and better trained.
Keep shoes, socks, and small household items picked up, since these are common chewing and swallowing hazards.
