Multi-level cages with ramps aren't ideal for guinea pigs the way they are for some small pets, since guinea pigs are ground-dwelling and can injure themselves on ramps or falls; more floor space is almost always better than added height. Provide multiple hideouts so each guinea pig has a retreat, plus chew-safe wood toys to help manage their continuously growing teeth.
A cozy corner with soft bedding for sleeping, separate from their bathroom area, encourages good hygiene habits. Daily supervised floor time outside the cage — in a guinea-pig-proofed room or playpen — gives them room to run, explore, and popcorn to their heart's content.
